Wolf’s Ridge Brewing opened in 2013 and quickly became a staple of the downtown beer and food scene. We love the product they’re brewing and we wanted to ensure their brand positions them as a household name in the craft brewery industry. Wolf’s Ridge was searching for an identity that tied their family story with that of Columbus. Through research, Serif developed a folktale rooted in the brewery’s location in downtown Columbus, which was once a strand of forest called Wolf’s Ridge. This frontier name that pre-dates the founding of Columbus is integral to the core of the Wolf’s Ridge Brewing brand and product positioning.

From this research we developed a folktale that told the story of the area known as Wolf’s Ridge.

Connecting the Past with the Present

The origin of Columbus drove the brand development process and the folktale we wrote took on a life of its own across different label styles and product names.

An Identity That Needed to Work Across Many Environments

Creating branded elements that work across multiple experiential touch points was an exciting part of this project. Leaning into artifacts from the story lore helped us develop an illustrative style to communicate their independent passion and commitment to craft.
