Overview

With this new identity for Children’s Hunger Alliance, our aim was to make a brand that would be able to house and champion the broad collection of initiatives and accomplishments that have come to make up the organization. Driven by a simple mission, to feed children in need, the organization has grown in scale to meet the urgency of its task.

And so now the brand, too, needed to reflect the breadth of the present and the potential of the future.

Leaving A Mark

Above all, we want the letters “CHA” to be synonymous with Children’s Hunger Alliance. The identity is based around the interplay of the three iconic letters. Their bold silhouettes can stand out on a page or on the side of a building. They are playful, while still carefully considered, evoking a personhood and professionalism fit for CHA.

Three of a Kind

This trio of contrasting shapes are designed to fit together in harmony; representing how the diverse set of the organization’s programs are all cut from the same cloth. And like the unshakable focus of CHA’s mission, the apple is woven into the design of the “A”, inseparable and immutable.

Working with Serif to create a brand identity that would reflect our work and mission was a positive experience. From concept to completion, the Serif team was a great partner every step of the way. I am proud of the collaborative work.

Bringing the Brand to Life

The rest of the brand identity follows along these lines, favoring lively boldness in its use of colors, typography, and accompanying graphics. While the mission of Children’s Hunger Alliance is a serious one, through this brand we can speak with confidence, optimism, and enthusiasm, leading the way to brighter tomorrows.

Making It Real

An identity is only as strong as its application. For each context, we considered the audience and impact of our messaging, threading the energy of CHA’s branding through every link of the chain.

It’s a gift to work with a company so excited to keep pushing their identity into louder, bolder, and more creative directions at every turn. The result speaks to everyone’s enthusiasm to build something extraordinary.
