At the beginning of last month we got an email from Stefanie Fox, a salon owner and friend of ours. Unfortunately, it was the type of email that no one wants to receive. A close friend of hers, Amber Burg, had just been diagnosed with breast cancer. As a society, this sort of thing isn’t uncommon despite its gravity; however, what is uncommon about Amber’s diagnosis is the fact she is only 28 years old. This moved Stefanie to take action.
We met with Stefanie, Amber, and her husband John at a coffee shop to find out how we could best volunteer our services. Stefanie wanted to raise money and awareness not only for Amber’s case, but young breast cancer victims in general. She had already organized events at an art studio inviting the community to express their thoughts and emotions about cancer with paint on a canvas.
After listening to the entire story, we decided to create a film to tell Amber’s story and get the word out for the events in October. The following is that video; give it a watch to find out how to participate in the events or donate to Amber’s cause.
